Abstract: This research explores the impact of adult education on reducing unemployment rates. The study aimed to investigate how adult education programs influence employment outcomes and job market participation. The objectives were to assess the effectiveness of adult education in improving employability, to evaluate its impact on job acquisition and retention, and to identify the types of adult education programs most beneficial for reducing unemployment. A survey research design was employed, allowing for a comprehensive analysis of the relationship between adult education and employment outcomes. A sample size of 275 participants who have recently completed adult education programs was selected to provide relevant insights. The purposive sampling technique was used to focus on individuals who have engaged in adult education with direct relevance to employment. The case study was conducted in Enugu, Nigeria, where adult education programs have been actively promoted to address unemployment. Findings indicated that adult education significantly improved employability and job market participation, leading to reduced unemployment rates. The study recommended enhancing vocational training components and expanding access to adult education programs to further reduce unemployment.
